Hunter's Marlborough Gewürztraminer 2024
Marlborough

Exotic fruit and spice in this well-balanced Gewurz – clear proof that Marlborough isn’t limited to one grape. It’s from Hunter’s, a hugely successful family estate that first put NZ Sauvignon on the map in 1986. Intense, aromatic, fruity and fresh.

The Wine
The great grape of Alsace, Gewürztraminer, is right at home in Marlborough. Hunter’s Gewurz is rich and zesty, with passion fruit, lychee and rose petal aromas. As delicious on its own as with curries or tagines. Just 30 years ago Marlborough was known only for barley and sheep. The success story of this remote wine region is one of the most remarkable in modern times, and one in which Hunter’s can justly claim to have played a major part. Raise a glass then to Jane Hunter, not only a trained viticulturist with a string of accolades for her work (including a ‘UK Women in Wine Award’) but an OBE and, most recently, Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit. From a vineyard planted in 1995, this white balances spicy fruit and freshness.

Excellent. One of the best Gewürztraminers I have had. Aromatic and silky, with a dry finish
