The Cider
Dorset Nectar has been nurturing its 3,000-strong apple orchard since its foundation in 2006. Oliver and Penny Strong rather fell into the project: they were looking for a barn for Oliver’s metal sculpture work and the 30 year old organic orchards came too. Combining their passions for engineering and for horticulture, they started their own cider farm and have gone from strength to strength, winning many local and national awards. Their orchards include Dabinett, Michelin, Yarlington Mills, Sweet Coppin and Brown’s – classic varieties that lend plenty of character and refreshing crispness, too. Blending is masterminded by son Ryan Strong, who adds a splash of organic Belvoir Elderflower syrup to give an aromatic lift and hint of sweetness.
