The Wine
As Decanter’s Charles Curtis MW said, “Burgundy 2020 is certainly a vintage worth buying” declaring it as “exceptional”. This is a stunning example from a small family domaine. Dating back to 1702, it was passed down the female side until the birth of Lucien Camus in 1949, the first son for generations. He married Bernadette Bruchon and since 2001, their son Guillaume and daughter Alexandra, an oenologist at renowned Albert Bichot, have gradually taken charge. Situated in Savigny, they have plots of enviably old vines, which accounts for the quality and consistency they achieve. Enjoy this Chorey-Lès-Beaune's luscious red berry fruit, smoky spice, complexity and freshness that'll allow it to age. Ideal with duck or wild mushroom stroganoff.
