Château Mire l’Etang Cuvée les Bois de l’Etang 2021
La Clape AOP
Loading...
La Clape is a small enclave in the Languedoc, the wines of which are so good, they have their own appellation. Limestone soils and cooling sea breezes produce sumptuous reds that go the distance. All native grapes, this red is rich, ripe and intense.
We're sorry, this wine is sold out.
But don't worry, you'll find plenty more handpicked wines here.

The Wine
La Clape is the 'pearl' of the Languedoc, perched high on a cliff, jutting into the Med. Covered by scrubland and umbrella pines, it's buffeted by 13 winds! Soils are largely limestone (just like they have in Saint-Emilion's Grands Crus Classés) which produce wines that age magnificently. Château La Mire is a small property, unknown outside France, but its wines highly praised by the French 'wine bible', Le Guide Hachette and awarded Le Coup de Coeur, its highest accolade. The Chamayrac family have been proprietors since 1972. They boast 50 hectares of limestone and schist soil, bathed in Mediterranean sunshine, growing Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault. Red fruits tinged with herbs, spice and freshness, it's ideal with grilled meats or lasagne.
