The Wine
The Hills is a special edition Pinotage from Stellenbosch's superb Bellemore Estate. It uses the hand picked grapes of ancient bush and younger trellised vines, grown on the Hills of Stellenbosch's premium Bottelary. Afternoon sea breezes keep the vines cool and produce superb elegance, yet richness, in the wine. Bellevue has been owned by the Morkel family since 1861 and are as famous as the Kanonkop Estate for being one of the earliest pioneers of this variety. Winemakers Wilhelm Kritzinger and Anneke Potgieter are Pinotage specialists. Aged in oak casks for a year, this wine’s fresh red berry and plum fruit has a gentle hint of spice, while tannins are beautifully rounded. Enjoy with barbecued chicken, char-grilled steaks or a casserole.
