Balvenie Single Barrel First Fill Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl) NV

Founded in 1893, the Balvenie distillery has a long tradition of producing quality single malts. It’s one of a handful of distilleries to malt its own barley as it owns 1,000 acres of fertile Banffshire farmland. Malting is still carried out on a traditional malt floor and the distillery still has its own cooperage and an on site coppersmith to look after the stills. This subtly sweet whisky is from the Single Barrel First Fill Series, a run of unique, hand numbered limited editions drawn from bourbon casks, used for the first time in Scotland. Malt Master David Stewart samples the aged whisky, selecting only those characterised by sweetness and vanilla oak. Although each cask is unique, you can expect a deliciously consistent character.
