Altestelle Spumante NV

Situated in southern Italy’s Puglia, Cantine Due Palme is the great cellar behind customer favourite Pillastro, as well as their flagship red Selvarossa Riserva. Altestelle, however, is a new venture for them into sparkling wine – truly delicious and refreshing. Still using their favoured Negroamaro grape that thrives so well in their Salento vineyards, they’ve quickly taken the juice off its skins (so it stays white) and vinified it. The wine then goes through a secondary fermentation to create the bubbles. Founder of this renowned cooperative, the much bemedaled Angelo Maci, is delighted with the new addition to the range. Chill it down and raise a glass to this Cooperative of the Year 2023. Great on its own or with light dishes.
