For those bevy of fans who love the bold spicy flavours of Zinfandel, this is a one-off parcel that’s sure to please. It is from a third generation winemaking family, who were keen to clear cellar space for their 2018s. And we, and you, are the benefactors! It’s from mature vineyards in Lodi, Wine Enthusiast’s Wine Region of the Year in 2015. There it ripens to perfection in 250+ days of hot sunshine. The family have vineyards of their own, but also work throughout the year with 40 growers to obtain, at harvest time, the grape quality they are looking for. Zinfandel loves the heat and rocky soils of Lodi and produces a style of wine that, although intense, is very approachable too. A top barbecue red but also perfect for cold winter days.
