Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is the hero of Bordeaux, playing a big part in famous clarets like Château Lafite and Château Latour. But it is also impressive in regions as far-flung as California, Australia’s Coonawarra, Chile and Argentina – where it ripens fully. The thick skin of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes deepens tannin and colour, making wines ideal for cellaring. Expect plenty of bold, black fruits – blackcurrants and black cherry in particular, often with mint or pepper characters.
