That’s down to Portuguese Black Red maestro Jaime Quendera. For Vinha do Fava Reserva, Jaime selects prized parcels of Touriga Nacional (Portugal’s top grape) from the estate’s famed 100-Gold-winning Fava vineyard and blends with local speciality grape Castelão, from the property’s oldest vineyards.
He then ages the wine for over a year in the finest oak barrels. The result is a red with sumptuous layers of toast and exotic spice mingling with rich, dense black fruit. Everything Fava fans adore ... but more. One to savour with hearty meat dishes and rich, savoury sauces.
