Valdorata Fiano 2025

Valdorata Fiano is a lively, crisp white wine that embraces one of Italy’s unique, characterful grape varieties that excels on the slopes of Sicily.
In 1958, in Sicily's town of Menfi, 68 winemakers signed a pact to preserve the island's vineyards and thereby a way of life. More than six decades later, this cooperative has been named 'Winery of the Year' twice – in 2018 by Vini d’Italia and 2017 by Germany’s Weinwirtschaft. It’s also gained top marks in the renowned Gambero Rosso wine guide.
The winemaker there is Domenico de Gregorio, Mimmo to his friends, who works with top wine consultant Alberto Antonini and viticulturalist Pedro Parra. Mimmo has used solely Fiano, a grape that excels on Sicily’s sunny, ocean-cooled slopes, to make a delicious white with bright orchard fruits, juicy white peach and hints of orange blossom.
Chill down – it’s great to sip solo and also works well with seafood or risotto.
