The Story Behind the Bottle
When ripened by the Aussie sunshine, cassis-laden Cabernet and rich, spicy Shiraz make a full-flavoured duo – and Shot in the Dark is the perfect example. Crafted at John Quarisa’s family winery in New South Wales, it’s smooth, easy going and packed with ripe fruit. Equally delicious on its own or with food, it’s the kind of red wine that John always dreamed of making while working for some of the biggest names in Australia. Today, with the help of his wife Josephine and their three children, he brings that dream to life. The family’s motto is ‘Passion is Everything’ – and it’s clearly working. Despite being a relative newcomer, the winery holds a four-star rating from top critic James Halliday. Supple, generous and crowd-pleasing.
