Ribolla Gialla Spumante Cuvée Biele Zôe is a dazzling fizz from Valerio Civa at his family winery in Friuli. The winery lies very close to famous names like Livio Felluga, Marco Felluga and Jermann, whose top wines fetch up to £70 a bottle.
Valerio remembers, as a child, helping his grandfather all summer in the vineyards, breathing in the aromas of the grapes and the countryside. Then, in the cellar, smelling the sweet scents of the fermenting musts. It convinced him that winemaking would be his vocation.
Today he boasts extensive vineyards and a high-tech cellar where he makes this crisp, orchard fruit spumante. Nearly all Ribolla Gialla, picked early for freshness, with a 15% portion of Chardonnay, this bubbly sparkling wine has luscious ripe fruit, zesty lemon notes and a creamy mousse. Enjoy well-chilled on its own or with lighter seafood dishes and fresh salads.
