RedHeads Rusty Roof Chardonnay 2018
Meet Rusty Roof, first release ever from RedHeads’ new Barossa winery. It’s got a vineyard too – mostly Shiraz, but the few rows of Chardonnay were too good to ignore. So the team got to work and made this gorgeously fruity, barrel fermented white.

The Story Behind the Bottle
RedHeads has been blazing a trail, first in the McLaren Vale, then in the Barossa. They like to show the Big Boys of these smart regions that they are a winemaking force to be reckoned with. Up until 2018, they’ve always worked closely with the best growers, wherever they nurture the finest grapes. They like to rescue these small parcels of top quality fruit from the anonymous big blends and make amazing wines. This practice doesn’t stop, but just recently they’ve put down roots too, buying a plot with its own vineyard. Only a small one and mostly Shiraz, but they discovered a few rows of Chardonnay as well. The result is this luscious Barossa white. Fermented and aged in oak, it has a tasty balance of creamy ripe fruit and toasty spice.
