As Decanter notes, “this popular holiday destination is also the place to go for vibrant and exciting pink wines.” Melpo Rosé comes from the family-owned Muses Estate, situated on the slopes of Mount Helicon near Athens – where wine has been made for over 1,000 years. The cellar is run by brothers Nikos, Stelios and Panayiotis Zaharias. Their pink combines international star Syrah, for its peppery red fruit, with Greece’s pink-skinned Roditis Alepou variety, which adds lovely lemony freshness. A treat on its own, and perfect with shellfish dishes or a watermelon and feta salad.
