The Wine
This is a knock your socks off Shiraz from one of Australia's very top wineries. Its wines regularly gain 95-99 points and it's renowned the world over. It lies in McLaren Vale, known for its rich, restrained Shiraz (though at 16%, this Limited Release is a little more opulent than most!) and many other varieties besides. Over a period of half a billion years or so, Mother Nature has imbued this region with such a tapestry of soils that it offers conditions to make nearly every style of wine. This is a small parcel of rich, chocolatey Shiraz that our Buyer was quick to jump on. A sample from cask confirmed his hunch that this was a wine too good to miss and is terrifically well priced. It’s delicious now, but will easily age for 5+ years.
