The Barossa Valley is a prized region of South Australia more often associated with swarthy red wines, than with whites. But this wine bucks the trend and shows what delicious, full-bodied, creamy whites can be made there too, if you pick your vineyard well. Gold Top is a wonderful example of Chardonnay from this premium region. Buttery, full-flavoured and rich – only one name would do! Like a traditional full-on ‘Gold Top’ milk, this is golden Australian Chardonnay at its most indulgent. Lashings of peaches and cream in every sip, all perfectly balanced by a sunny citrus zip that’s oh-so moreish.
