Glenfarclas 15-Year-Old Laithwaite's Wine Exclusive Whisky (70cl) NV

Named ‘Whisky of the Year’ in 2014, this is a rich, single malt, with additional complexity thanks to its long ageing in sherry casks. Despite all that ageing and a higher strength (46%), it is very good value. Revel in its peaty, butterscotch notes.

The Spirit
In 1865, cattle breeder John Grant purchased the Glenfarclas distillery and adjacent farm for the sum of £511 and 19 shillings. It was ideally positioned, halfway between his other distillery, Glenlivet, and the cattle market in Elgin. At the foot of Ben Rinnes, Glenfarclas sources its water from the crystal clear spring water that bubbles up from the granite soils of this beautiful valley. Six generations on, the distillery remains in the Grant family. They have built an impressive reputation for malts of exceptional quality and value and every year win many awards. Glenfarclas is also renowned for its well aged malts. Aged in sherry casks for 15 years, this single malt is particularly deeply flavoured, complex and long. One to savour.
