GG Grenache Gris 2023
Pays d'Oc IGP

Finding a wine made purely from Grenache Gris is rare. It's even rarer to discover one that's so good, it's oak-fermented. From southern France and a winemaker, ready to pounce on the best grapes, it's a luscious, creamy spice and peachy white.
We're sorry, this wine is sold out.
But don't worry, you'll find plenty more handpicked wines here.

The Wine
Winemaker Mark Hoddy works in a winery close to Béziers, in southern France. He also lives nearby, in Pézenas, so he's always ready to leap on a special parcel of grapes – in the vineyard or when it comes into the cellar. For many years, he's been watching out for some top-quality Grenache Gris to match what he'd found back in 2012. Finally, a decade later, he succeeded. Such was the richness and deep fruit flavour of the grapes that he made the bold decision to ferment a parcel in barrel. That lends a delicious, well-integrated layer of oak spice to the ripe peach, pear and mandarin fruit, with hints of blossom. A beautifully balanced white, with creamy roundness, that makes a tasty partner to sauced chicken or salmon en croûte.
