The Wine
Forgotten by wine lovers for over a decade, Beaujolais today is one of France's trendiest regions. Its wines are delicious, charming and exciting. This is a fabulous Morgon from Maison Piron, dating back to 1590. It has 95 hectares of vines throughout Beaujolais’ finest villages, a third of them in Morgon. For 14 generations it remained in the family, but with no heirs to pass to, the last – Dominique Piron – handed it to a long standing friend, Julien Revillon, to continue the heritage. Julien has a vision to produce Beaujolais as fine as any Burgundy and goes to great lengths to achieve that, in the vineyard and in the cellar. Grown on the granite soils of Morgon, this red is silky and lush. Superb with duck or butternut squash risotto.
Forgotten by wine lovers for over a decade, Beaujolais today is one of France's
Delicious. A beautiful Beaujolais with characteristic fruitiness, not too full nor too light
