The Wine
You’ll find no end of acclaim for the fine reds of Domaine de Mourchon. Jancis Robinson MW puts their wines “amongst the most interesting 5% of wine made today”, while the Wine Advocate wrote "these splendid cuvées are all worth buying by the caseload.” The property was initially bought by Walter and Ronnie McKinley in 1998 as their ‘retirement home’, but it’s been far from that. They purchased 17 hectares of vines and built a house, then a winery. They brought in Sébastian Magnouac as winemaker and have enjoyed enormous success through their hard work. Grande Réserve is silky Grenache with Syrah, half the wine aged in fine oak barrels. A powerful, sumptuous, velvety red with dark fruit richness to partner with lamb or a herby casserole.

Very meaty flavours and beautifully smooth with an attractive savour on the end
