The Wine
Domaine Bott-Geyl is an exceptional estate in beautiful, sun-filled Alsace. Owner Jean-Christophe Bott is a direct descendant of the 18th-century founder, Jean Martin Geyl. The domaine was certified organic in 2000 and biodynamic two years later, so now the vineyards are treated as one living organism, the health of which determines that of the grapes and the consequent purity of flavour in the wine. Their Riesling Grafenreben is from an exceptional southeast-facing vineyard, planted on soils of clay and limestone, ideal for cultivating Riesling of great finesse, minerality and with the structure to age. Enjoy here its lively stone fruit with candied lemon notes, raciness and saline complexity. Drink now or lay down for a decade more.
