The Wine
On the western coast of Australia lies Margaret River - a premium winemaking region with ideal conditions for outstanding wines. As Julian Langworthy, head winemaker at Deep Woods Estate, says: “We just have this amazing Goldilocks effect of lovely sunny days, cool nights, wonderfully diverse soil types and aspects. It really is a winemaking nirvana”. In such a setting, Julian and his team look to produce fruit richness, flavour and soft tannins in their reds. The winery just won World’s Best Cabernet at Decanter World Wine Awards 2022 so it’s safe to say, they know how to make top-notch reds. This wine is a blend of bold, cassis-driven Cabernet Sauvignon with juicy, spicy Shiraz. Great on its own or with a rich casserole or roast meats.
