Niederösterreich

From a top cellar in Austria’s Kremstal region, Danaris is deliciously lime crisp and stoney fresh. It’s pure Grüner Veltliner, the grape behind some of Austria’s top whites and “the best kept secret of the wine world” (Wine & Spirits magazine).

The Wine
A decade back, Austrian wines rarely strayed outside the country’s borders, but today, their popularity is gaining traction. Grüner Veltliner is the nation’s finest white grape producing zesty whites with body and white pepper notes. This classic is from a small winery in Krems, a town with eight centuries of winemaking tradition. Founded in 1938 by members of the local Wine Growers Guild, it lies at the heart of the Kremstal region, where clay and limestone soils “imbue the finest Veltliners with a density all of their own” (Jancis Robinson MW). Hand harvested, the grapes are gently pressed to extract only the most delicate flavours. A classic ‘GrüVe’ with spice and green apple fruit, Danaris is ideal with pork, fish or Asian cuisine.

Great wine. I love this, bought multiple bottles now. Fresh and fruity with the hint of fizz
