Flavour Profile
If you’re a long-standing customer who enjoys a drop of Bordeaux with a little bit of age, chances are you’ve heard of Château Ramage La Batisse. We’ve stocked 10 vintages which together have won a total of 41 Golds and three Trophies.
It’s a Bordeaux that always punches way higher than its already-smart Cru Bourgeois Haut-Médoc appellation. Maybe that's because it lies on the border of Pauillac and only a short stroll from First Growth Châteaux Lafite and Mouton Rothschild.
Our Bordeaux Buyer Jean-Marc Sauboua has known the family for years and they always give him first refusal on their latest releases. They also like to hoard their finest vintages, only parting with them when they’re ready to enjoy.
Decanter called the 2019 vintage ""excellent … providing power and density alongside elegance and class”. With six years’ age, the 2019 is supple and approachable, making delicious drinking now, but there’s no hurry. It’ll continue to develop and maintain peak form for a few years yet. Open an hour before serving with rich red meat dishes.
