Château Cissac Magnum 2014
Haut-Médoc AOC Cru Bourgeois
Loading...
Lying close to both Pauillac and Saint-Estèphe, Château Cissac produces firm, fruit-laden, ageworthy Bordeaux. James Suckling called it “another very good Haut-Médoc” and with 10 years of maturity and presented in magnum, it’s drinking very well.

The Wine
For five generations the Vialard family have been making outstanding, age-worthy clarets in the Haut-Médoc. Recognised for their consistent quality, Château Cissac is undoubtedly “the pillar of the bourgeoisie” (Hugh Johnson). Crafting exceptional wines, the Vialard’s also offer some of the best value in Bordeaux. Like its famous neighbours, St-Estèphe and Pauillac, this cuvée is dense in rich, ripe cassis fruit, that has mellowed over the last ten years. Constantly outperforming its classification, this claret is complex with good depth of fruit, the flavours of which have evolved with time. It’s a classic blend of Cabernet, Merlot and spicy Petit Verdot, infused with oak. From a slow-to-mature vintage, this Bordeaux is showing well.
