The Story Behind the Bottle
Champagne Vieille France has over 250 years of history. Starting with prized vineyards in the Côte des Blancs, Léon Le Brun founded the house in 1860 and the business remained in the family for over 135 years. In 2003 the Rapeneau family took charge, vowing to give the wines a new lease of life and as a mark of respect to its origins, they reintroduced the 18th-century styled bottle which they use today. Their superb Blanc de Blancs is pure Chardonnay from Montagne de Reims, mostly from Premier and Grand Cru vineyards. With aromas of ripe peach, brioche and toasted spice, it’s a superbly elegant, poised, fruit-focused Champagne, with toasted cereal notes and crisp minerality. Just made to sip alongside oysters and a joy on its own.
