The Wine
Taittinger today is one of the largest, most well-respected Champagne houses, with 288 hectares of vineyards. Founded in 1794 and originally called Forest-Fourneaux, it was purchased by Pierre Taittinger in 1932. A near-century of growth has seen Taittinger become one of the leading houses of the region, and one of the few remaining independent family-owned estates, not unfamiliar with receiving 100-point scores for their top fizz. As William Kelley of Wine Advocate wrote, “The Taittinger style is pure and expressive, emphasizing charming fruit but gaining in tension”. The Prestige Rosé Brut is Pinot Noir dominant, lending deep colour and vibrant summer berry fruit, with a core of freshness. A superb pink for a special celebration.
