The Story Behind the Bottle
Nestled in the picturesque northern Rhône landscape, amidst its steep granite hillsides, lies Cave de Saint Désirat. Founded in 1960, this cellar collaborates with 350 growers to craft an exciting array of Saint-Joseph wines, as well as vins de pays from just beyond the appellation’s borders. Silky and elegant, as you’d expect from this prestigious appellation, this wine is laced with red fruits, herbal notes and liquorice complexity. Very much Saint-Joseph style at a modest price. With structure and freshness, there’s no rush to savour this gem. Allow it to breathe for an hour before enjoying, and for an even more enhanced experience, consider decanting into a jug or decanter. A joy to sip alongside grilled lamb or Mediterranean bake.
