The Wine
Winery of the Year seven times, the Casa Silver estate is one of Chile’s most bemedalled. It was founded by Emilio Bouchon who arrived from Bordeaux in 1892. Today, it's run by Mario Pablo Silva, who has made the property one of the leading estates in Chile. The family has pioneered new regions, most recently discovering the volcanic-soil vineyards in the remote Valle de Osorno of Chile’s Patagonia. Situated between the Andes and Lake Ranco, its sloping hillsides enjoy a perfect climate for crisp, aromatic whites. Elegant, with bright, almost tropical fruit, grassy freshness and a mineral finish, this is “consistently among Chile’s top Sauvignons”. Two months’ lees ageing provides roundness and depth. A superb wine to partner seafood.
