The Story Behind the Bottle
Winery of the Year seven times, the Casa Silver estate is one of Chile’s most bemedalled. It was founded by Emilio Bouchon who arrived from Bordeaux in 1892. Today, it's run by Mario Pablo Silva, who has made the property one of the leading estates in Chile. The family has pioneered new regions, most recently discovering the volcanic-soil vineyards in the remote Valle de Osorno of Chile’s Patagonia. Situated between the Andes and Lake Ranco, its sloping hillsides enjoy a perfect climate for crisp, aromatic whites. Elegant, with crisp apple, lime and fresh quince notes, with a floral hint and a brisk finish, this is “chiselled and intense” (Tim Atkin MW). A very elegant, crisp Riesling, perfect on its own or with a fancy salad or seafood.
