The Wine
Lugny is one of the top villages of Burgundy’s Mâcon region and Albert Bichot’s delicious Les Charmes is one of its most distinctive wines. What’s more, Les Charmes also offers outstanding value – rare for Burgundy. The large, single vineyard nurtures a special Chardonnay clone known as Musk which promotes exceptional aromas, further enhanced by the local chalk and limestone soils. An idyllic south-southeast orientation and the age of the 40-year-old vines add to the wine’s ripeness and intensity. Several growers make wine from this vineyard, but Albert Bichot's is one of the best. Fresh, bright, pure and well balanced, Les Charmes makes a lovely accompaniment to seafood, chicken and creamy risotto. Serve in large-bowled glasses.

An excellent young Burgundy at a sensible price. Lovely citrus and stone fruits with some minerality
