The Zuccardi family’s estate was founded in 1963 by Alberto, the grandfather of today’s superstar winemaker Sebastián. The winery is an angular, almost brutalist structure, designed as a tribute to the austerity of the landscape it complements. Constructed with utmost respect for the grape, the cellar is fully gravity fed. You won’t find any stainless steel here – all the tanks are concrete – hence this wine’s unusual name. It’s even aged in concrete vats to preserve the fruit purity and structure of the Malbec. “This is a unique wine for Mendoza with a cool-fruit and serious slate character," said James Suckling, while Wine Advocate called it "very precise and balanced", "austere and serious". It's lean, textured and will age superbly.

"Lots of blackberry and blueberry character with stone and dried mint. This no-wood red is a joy" James Suckling
