The Story Behind the Bottle
Phil and Chris Rose founded their estate in 1978, first as growers selling their grapes to other big names, then later adding a winery of their own. Today they produce some of our best loved Marlborough Sauvignon (Have you tried customer favourite Sunday Bay yet?). As an added bonus their five children have now joined them, so it’s very much a family affair. Taking its name from the river that runs through the heart of the region, Wairau River is a classic expression of everything we love about New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. Clean and crisp it bursts with a flinty minerality, flavours of grapefruit, gooseberry, herbs and white stone fruit. Expressive flavours, a fresh finish. Chill it down and serve in large glasses solo or with seafood.
