The Story Behind the Bottle
Tyrrell’s is one of Australia's most famous family wineries, producing exemplary wines since the mid 19th century. The family can trace their history back to William the Conqueror, but first landed in Oz in the 1840s. They planted vines in the Hunter Valley in 1848, and built a winery there a decade later. Tyrrell’s are renowned for one of the world's finest Semillons, and produce many other wines with legendary status. They've won Winery of the Year and Winemaker of the Year twice, and many more Trophies beside. In 1994 Tyrrell’s bought vines in Heathcote, and this top Shiraz is the result. Its secret is the unique strip of Cambrian soil, forged over 500 million years, resulting in rich dark fruit and white pepper spice. Let it breathe.
