Johnnie Q is a larger-than-life winemaker with a wealth of experience, out to prove that Australia can succeed as much with Malbec as Argentina. He's certainly made his mark with this Gold medal red. Lots of deep plum and berry with a lift of spice.

Over the last 24 years, Johnnie Quarisa has worked for some of the biggest names in Australia. In that time, he's also won some of the most coveted awards too, including the Jimmy Watson and the Stodart Trophies. Finally, he and his childhood sweetheart (now wife) Josephine, have gone out on their own, living by the belief that 'passion is everything'. You can certainly taste that in the fruit-forward charm of this Malbec. The grape isn't widely planted in Australia but, judging by this wine, it begs the question, why not? It seems to thrive in Australia's warm climate, softening tannins and bringing out its supple blackberry and lightly floral character. Soft enough on its own; a great barbecue red, or with grilled meats or tomato pasta.

"We have always enjoyed Malbec from South America but this has outdone those. Smooth and flavoursome" 5-Star Online Review
