To achieve 5 Red Stars is like receiving the Golden Ticket for Aussie wineries. Highly sought after and rarely given. It’s bestowed by the James Halliday Companion, founded by the eponymous critic, and signifies a winery that produces consistently excellent wines. So expect great things from this ripe Merlot. The wine was in fact originally destined for China, but due to the imposition of tariffs and a cancelled order, it needed a new home. When our buyer got wind of this, he snapped it up - a limited parcel of top-shelf red for a great price. While the winery name is under lock and key, we don’t think you’ll mind when you taste what’s in the bottle. Juicy fruit with a chocolaty finish, it's as good on its own as it is versatile with food.
