Casa Silva was founded by Emilio Bouchon who arrived in Chile from Bordeaux in 1892. Today, it's run by Mario Pablo Silva, who has made the property one of the leading estates in Chile. US critic Robert Parker picked out a past vintage of this wine, scoring it 91 Points. The family has pioneered new regions in Chile and has been at the forefront of research into Chilean viticulture. You can taste that expertise and enthusiasm in this Casa Silva Sauvignon Gris. Related to Sauvignon Blanc, this rarer white grape produces wine with lovely grassy, citrusy zip, as well as riper fruit notes of peach and melon and a touch of creamy weight. Aged on its lees in vat, this is a breezy, crisp white. Great for solo sipping or with chicken or seafood.
