And so began the challenge for Alan to make the very best Durif the world has ever seen. It's a bit of a treat for Alan to make such a small batch red – so small, every bottle is numbered. Very little Durif is grown in Oz – it's less than 1% of plantings – and Alan takes a lot of it for our much-loved regular Black Stump that customers adore. So, for The Premium, he picks 'the eyes out of the crop' - uses the very best and gives it top treatment. This is a rich, exotic, well-spiced red, best after a few months-plus ageing.
