More information
A fresh, fruity white from an estate in renowned Robertson. It’s named after Jacobus de Wet, founder of the property (in 1859) and great grandfather of current owner Peter de Wet. He'd built his fortune on a 'feather palace' – ostrich feathers – a thriving haute couture business until WW1. Then the advent of open top cars rendered ostrich feather hats impractical! He invested next in breeding horses (another Robertson speciality), then planted extensive vineyards. Nowadays not only do the de Wets make great wine, but they also support many community projects. Pure Chardonnay, this is an appetising white with bright fruit and a pleasant creamy weighty. A wine to enjoy with a smile and creamy lemon chicken dishes or just on its own.
