About the vineyard
Through a lucky royal household connection, we were delighted to discover an almost perfect site for an English vineyard. It’s a long (and charming) story that resulted, in 2011, in the planting of a 3-hectare vineyard at the heart of Windsor Great Park. Ideal soils, exposure to the sun, with slopes leading down to Great Meadow Pond … all near-perfect conditions, bar perhaps the grape-thirsty parakeets! We had the best in the business advising us and the outcome has been an award-winning fizz that has received critical acclaim from press worldwide.
Your Wine
The first release was 2013 and it gets better every vintage as the vines mature. We have guidance from the Roberts family at Ridgeview, with an amazing number of Trophies to their name, plus Henry Laithwaite from ‘Winery of the Year 2019’ Harrow & Hope. Half Chardonnay, supported by both Pinot Noir and Meunier, and long aged on its lees, it has classic ripe apricot notes and long toasty brioche complexity. We tend to release a non-vintage wine now, adding in reserve wines to lend the richest, broadest flavour.
Thank you for being a Partner!
Your support of this small vineyard and its community-inspired project set in the heart of the royal park means a great deal. Windsor Great Park Brut really is the business as a Gold and multiple scores of 93 and 94 points for both the 2015 and 2016 vintages attest to.
Sadly, this vineyard - as it is part of the royal estate - is not open for visits. But we are hoping to put on some very special WGP partner events in the near future - watch this space!
We’re delighted to announce the release of Windsor Great Park Vineyard No.7, already tasting rich, complex and deliciously appealing. It’s a non-vintage wine, which is now the norm for Windsor Great Park’s fine fizz (and most fine Champagne houses too). However, this release is based largely on the excellent 2019 vintage.

We will update our vintage information regularly to let you know what's drinking well now and what will improve from keeping. All three vintages below will become more complex with further cellaring, but are still showing very well now.
