While a glass of wine is always a great tipple on its own, sometimes the occasion calls for something different … perhaps something unusual and unique. In these moments, wine can make a fantastic base for creative and delicious cocktails.

With that in mind, let's explore four easy-to-make wine cocktail recipes that you can enjoy year-round.

English Garden Fizz

Immerse yourself in the essence of a blossoming English garden with this invigorating cocktail. Combine the zesty freshness of lemon and the delicate floral notes of elderflower with the effervescence of sparkling wine and you’ll create thirst-quenching cocktail. It’s guaranteed to tantalise the tastebuds.

What you’ll need:

  • In a shaker, combine the lemon juice, gin and elderflower cordial.

  • Shake well.

  • Add ice and continue to shake.

  • Strain the mixture into your glass of choice.

  • Top it off with your sparkling wine, Harrow and Hope Brut Reserve.

  • Garnish with lemon or fresh mint.

Mojito

If you’re a lover of mojitos, then this white wine mojito is a must-try. It’s a twist on the original … but incorporates white wine for a refreshing drink with a hint of sophistication.

What you’ll need:

  • ½ bottle of Sauvignon Blanc

  • Juice of two limes

  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup

  • Fresh mint leaves

  • Sparkling lemonade

  • Crushed ice

How to make it:

  • In a pitcher, mix together your Sauvignon Blanc, lime juice and maple syrup.

  • Add fresh mint leaves to taste.

  • Chill the mixture in the fridge for at least an hour.

  • Pour into a glass of your choice and serve over crushed ice.

  • Top it off with a dash of sparkling lemonade for an added fizz.

  • Garnish with a lime wedge.

And so, we thought it was about time to sample this unique twist … by swapping out the usual gin for Prosecco to see what all the fuss is about. It’s a delightful deviation on a classic, one that’s sure to leave a lasting impression on your palate.

What you’ll need:

How to make it:

  • Fill your glass with ice.

  • Add the Campari and Vermouth to the glass.

  • Stir well.

  • Top it off with Prosecco.

  • Garnish with a slice of orange.

White Sangria

Embrace the spirit of summer with a pitcher of white wine sangria, brimming with juicy fruits and crisp Sauvignon Blanc. From the very first sip, this fruity, refreshing white wine sangria cocktail will transport you to a sun-kissed terrace.

What you’ll need:

  • One pear, sliced

  • ½ mango, diced

  • 2 oranges, 1 sliced and 1 juiced

  • Juice of 1 lemon

  • Fresh mint leaves

  • Strawberries, sliced

  • ½ a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc

  • Ginger ale

How to make it:

  • In a pitcher, combine the sliced pear, diced mango, sliced oranges, lemon juice and mint leaves.

  • Add the sliced strawberries.

  • Pour in the Sauvignon Blanc and stir gently.

  • Put into the fridge and let is cool.

  • Before serving, top it off with ginger ale (this adds a hint of fizz).

  • Serve over ice.

  • Garnish with mint leaves or a fruit slice.
