Flavour Profile
Yotes Court is a small estate between the picturesque Kent villages of West Peckham and Mereworth. Originally a fruit farm, it was converted to vineyards in 2016 under the guidance of English wine guru, Stephen Skelton MW. Stephen has been at the forefront of English wines since the 1970s and described Yotes Court as “the best site I’ve planted for 45 years”.
A south-facing slope on free-draining sandy and clay dotted with Kentish ragstone all add up to ideal conditions. The site lies just west of the historic, Grade 1 listed manor house from which it takes its name. Those original vineyards support the classic trio Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier, the fruit from which they sell to Chapel Down. In 2018 and 2019, they planted 4 more hectares with Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Bacchus and a new red, Divico, all of which they use for Yotes Court wines.
Their lively, aromatic Bacchus is a creamy, rounded white wine – pure fruit with notes of white pepper, pear and other orchard fruits. Delicious solo and great with chicken or creamy fish dishes.
