The Wine
Crafted by renowned winemaker William Knuttel, Shroud Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon showcases California’s signature bold style. Named after the Pacific fog that blankets the nearby peak, this cooling mist creates a long ripening season that helps grapes develop more complex flavours. The finest parcels are sourced from vineyards in Mendocino County – a hotspot for terrific-tasting Cabernet – and bursts with ripe blackberry and black plum flavours. William adds a tiny portion of Clarksburg-grown Petite Syrah to enhance depth and intensity, while gentle oak ageing lends subtle vanilla, violet and cinnamon notes. The result is a smooth, full-bodied red wine – perfect for sipping alongside a juicy steak or a firm, farmhouse cheese.
