Shaw and Smith Shiraz 2021

Shaw and Smith began in 1989 when, over a family lunch, cousins Martin Shaw and Michael Hill Smith decided to realise a long-held dream: to make wine together.
They’re based in Adelaide Hills – one of the most vibrant wine regions in Australia, famous for its elegant cool-climate wines. By growing the best possible grapes and managing their vineyards sustainably, Martin and Michael have built an enviable reputation for quality. James Halliday rates Shaw and Smith at 5 Red Stars, signifying “an outstanding winery regularly producing wines of exemplary quality.”
The Shaw and Smith Shiraz 2021 strikes a perfect balance between power and elegance, as Shanteh Wale of Australia’s influential drinks guide The Wine Pilot notes: “A wine you’ll see on almost any city restaurant list because it fits the bill of real cool-climate elegance with the stuffing most Aussies require of our beloved Shiraz.”
James Suckling awards the wine an outstanding 95 points and writes: “The nose is lifted and perfumed, with fruit-driven aromas of blackcurrants, liquorice, sweet spices and cured meat.”
Pair with chargrilled lamb chops, a wild mushroom risotto or hard cheeses like Cheddar, Manchego or Comté.
