RedHeads Night Of The Living Red 2022
South Australia

A gorgeous full throttle red from the RedHeads team in deepest Barossa. An award-winning smash hit (boasting 10 Golds in 6 years), it combines spicy Durif with bramble-scented, old-vine Shiraz and exotic, spiced Touriga. Devilishly, darkly delicious.

The Wine
Alex Trescowthick heads up the team at the eco-focused RedHeads cellar in the Barossa. For this punchy red, they sweet-talk grower Joe Roccat every year to ensure they get a full load of his remarkable Durif grapes, grown at One Tree Hill. To this they add premium Shiraz from fifth-generation grower Adrian ‘Hoffy’ Hoffman in the Barossa’s Ebenezer. With some of his vines over 130 years old, Hoffy is a bit of a legend. The two vats of grapes make a terrific combination, perfected by a drop of Touriga Nacional, aged in a traditional solera system (traditional to Spain’s Jerez, not the Barossa!) to ensure it's utterly mellow and delicious. This wine is full of rich black fruit and spice with firm tannins. A star with a hearty casserole.

Gorgeous. It’s absolutely fabulous with black fruit and smoothness at its core. Don’t miss it!
