An appealing, fruit-layered Gevrey from “absolutely a vintage that you want in your cellar” according to Burghound. Graced with expressive blueberry and raspberry fruit, this is another outstanding red Burgundy from great winemaker Nicolas Potel.

The Wine
Gevrey-Chambertin is one of the star appellations of the Côte de Nuits, where you’ll find a host of “potently flavoured, concentrated, eventually smooth and perfumed” Pinot Noirs (Hugh Johnson). Wine lovers around the world have sought out its wines for centuries and Napoleon himself was said to be a fan! We’re certain he’d enjoy the wines of Nicolas Potel, son of the famous winemaker Gérard Potel. Nicolas describes himself as a "haute-couture négociant" of Burgundy, sourcing grapes and wines from the finest sites with the oldest vines. His winery and own estate vineyards reflect his commitment to sustainability – from the vines to the barrels in the cellar. Open this fine wine early and decant. A superb choice with venison or duck.

Nicolas Potel’s wines have a strong following in the UK, the United States and Japan for good reason
