The Story Behind the Bottle
A beautiful release from Château Vitallis and the Dutron family. The château traces its origins back to the 13th century and was originally built as a home for the Lord of Fuissé. The Dutrons have been crafting fine wines here since 1835, and today, Maxime Dutron focuses on making wine “on the vine.” He uses sustainable techniques in his sloping, southeastern-facing vineyards to ensure the grapes have perfectly ripe, long-developed flavors. Maxime really put his stamp on this wine—both the “M” on the label and the equal-parts racy and opulent white inside. Look forward to refreshing flavors of apricot, fresh melon and a gentle hint of spice. Like all fine Pouilly-Fuissé, it has a welcome minerality and thrilling zip of acidity running through the long, complex finish.
