The Wine
The premium grapes selected for the Fossilbed Sauvignon Blanc 2024 were from vineyards planted in the ancient soils of the Limestone Coast. Stretching from the Victorian border to the Younghusband Peninsula in South Australia, the Limestone Coast is one of Australia's most versatile wine growing regions. Settled since the early 1840s, much of the region was submerged by sea as recently as two million years ago. The deep limestone deposits created by coral and ancient sealife are now home to Australia's most important source of fossils and are classified as a World Heritage site. They also transfer this rich minerality to the grapes grown above them, giving this handcrafted Sauvignon Blanc a vibrant palate of summer fruits and citrus.
