The wines of 5th-generation Jean-Michel Chartron are "well worth seeking out" (Neal Martin). That includes this opulent and creamy Crémant fizz, made from pure Chardonnay. Bright apple and citrus, with floral and biscuit notes and fine bubbles.

The Wine
Crémant is a great alternative to Champagne. Made from the same grapes – in this instance Blanc de Blancs, so all Chardonnay – and using the same method, it has a smooth, creamy mousse and lovely bright orchard fruits, which develop subtle biscuit and brioche notes as it ages. This great bubbly is from the Chartron family, whose estate lies in Puligny-Montrachet. Established in 1859, the domaine has been cared for by five generations – each one extending and improving the immaculate vineyards. Custodians today are Jean-Michel and Anne-Laure Chartron. The grapes for their Crémant come from all over Burgundy so, for once, the wine isn't an expression of terroir, only of the whole region. Chill down and find reason to celebrate!
